Regenerative agriculture is one of the most meaningful movements of our time, restoring soil health

and the land we steward

Regenerative farming is focused on building healthy soil, working with nature, without chemical inputs or tilling, boosting biodiversity, and creating a healthy, thriving ecosystem to grow healthier more nutrient-dense food that is good for you.

Six Key Principles of Regenerative Agriculture

Union Grove Farm is proud to announce it has become the first vineyard in the nation to achieve Tier 5 Regenified™ Certification, the highest level for this regenerative agriculture certification.

This amazing achievement recognizes our farm as a national leader in regenerative viticulture, focused on building healthy soils, protecting biodiversity and growing exceptionally nutrient-dense, delicious grapes.

Soil Health & Biodiversity

We are always working to enhance our soil health through crop rotation, cover cropping, and no-tillage methods. Key to this is livestock integration with our 400 Katahdin sheep, which naturally control weeds and fertilize the land.

Composting & Vermiculture

Our composting operations utilize leaves and tree ramial from local towns, processed through various methods like windrows and aerated static compost beds. We also have a dedicated vermiculture lab housing 100,000 red wiggler worms, producing rich soil inputs and natural fertilizers.

The Secret To Our Soil

Robert Rodale

"Regenerative organic agriculture not only maintains resources but improves them. With only about 60 years of farmable topsoil remaining at current conventional practices, nothing less will do."
